Presentation Guidelines

Oral Presentations

The optimal format for oral presentations in PowerPoint is 16:9 (widescreen). Oral presenters must check in presentations with the Speaker Preview Room 2-4 hours prior to their session start time, preferably during a refreshment break (if possible).

The majority of oral presentations each will be 15 minutes long (12 minutes presentation and 3 minutes for questions) unless otherwise advised. Please rehearse your presentation to make sure you speak for no more than 12 minutes. This will ensure there are at least two minutes for discussion. As this is an essential part of the session, the chair will ask you to stop if you overrun.

NB If there are movie clips included in your presentation, you must bring the original movie files as well and ensure these have been thoroughly tested with the AV team prior to your session.

Poster Presentations

Authors are reminded that poster boards are 1.2m wide by 0.9m high. Posters must be A0 or A1 in size. A0 posters MUST be produced in landscape style. Velcro will be provided at each board to hang your posters.

We recommend printing your poster on paper and not on fabric.

Posters can be set up from 10am on Monday 24th September and will be available to view for the duration of the conference.  All posters must be removed by 12noon on Wednesday 26th September.  Any posters not taken down by this time will be destroyed.

Presenters will be available for discussion during the Poster Discussion Session on Tuesday 12th September from 15.45-16.30.

Poster Storm

The ‘Young Investigator Poster Storm’ will be held on Tuesday 25th September from 15.30 – 15.45 in the Auditorium Suite. The top 10 ranking poster abstract submitters will be given the opportunity to promote their poster in 60-second oral presentations.
